Contest rules and entry

PRIZE:

One prize will be awarded. The prize winner will receive a new picnic table constructed to the specification contained in the picnic table project plan posted on the California Redwood Association website and delivered to the address provided on the entry form.

WHO CAN ENTER:

The contest is open to contractors, do-it-yourselfers and anyone who has built one of the following projects based on project plans posted on the California Redwood Association website: Adirondack Chair, Adirondack Swing, or Petaluma Planter. Redwood must have been used in the construction of the project. Employees of the California Redwood Association are not eligible to enter.

HOW TO ENTER:

Enter by completing an online entry form and submitting photos of your project online at calredwood.org. Entry forms must specify the name of the lumber retailer at which the redwood used in construction was purchased. You may include several different photographs of your work; there is no limit on the number you may submit. Color images are preferred; jpg formats are preferred. The photographs must have been taken in within one year of the entry date to show the current condition of the project. Entries must include all of the required enclosures to qualify for the contest. The winning construction project may be featured online and in consumer or trade publications

ENTRY DEADLINE:

Entries must be received by June 15, 2010.

No entries will be acknowledged except the winner.

TERMS:

The submission of an entry signifies your agreement to the following: (1) you warrant that you, as the entrant in the contest or with the written consent of others, have the authority to make the submission and grant the rights herein granted; (2) you warrant that the material submitted with the entry, including the promotion thereof by the California Redwood Association, will not violate or infringe upon the rights of others; and (3) If you are a prize winner, in consideration thereof, you hereby grant to the California Redwood Association the exclusive right and license to: (1) reproduce and publish in both printed and electronic media all material submitted with the entry, along with your name and location; (2) create illustrations and drawings developed from your materials or photographs taken by us for reproduction and publication in both printed and electronic media; and (3) provide reasonable access for photographs to be made by representatives of the California Redwood Association. FURTHER, each entrant agrees to indemnify the California Redwood Association in the event the entrant violates any of the foregoing terms.

HOW ENTRIES ARE JUDGED:

Contest entries will be judged by representatives of the California Redwood Association. The judges will be looking for the most attractive and interesting uses of redwood in the construction projects. The winners will be chosen on design, construction quality, and innovative details. The determination of the judges will be final. Contest winner will be notified by within thirty days of the contest entry deadline.
